Amberley offers a variety of recreational opportunities which include cycling, walks, bird watching, canoeing, sailing, horse riding, racing, golf and tennis.  

Boat trips and canoeing take place on the River Arun and the nearby popular coastal resorts and Chichester harbour offer activities for sailing enthusiasts.

Goodwood is within easy reach of Amberley as is Parham House and Petworth House. The Pallant Gallery and Chichester Cathedral  offer a range of events including talks. exhibitions and concerts. Arundel Castle and gardens and Sussex Cricket Grounds are a ten minute drive.

Horsham Council walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn-up at the start point. Programme booklet containing over 250 walks is available from the Walks Co-ordinator on 01403 215269 or online at Horsham Walks. Beginners should contact Walk Leader.

Guided walks run by the RSPB.take place every Thursday from  10.30-12.30. See dates.
